Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - A Galactic Adventure with a Hefty Install Size

Are you ready to embark on the next Star Wars adventure with Cal Kestis and the Mantis crew? If so, you better make some room on your hard drive, as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor comes with a colossal install size of 155 GB, placing it among the top-tier games in terms of storage requirements.

With its release date set for April 28, 2023, EA has unveiled the PC system requirements, and while the hardware demands are manageable, the storage space needed is jaw-dropping. To put things into perspective, Jedi: Survivor's file size is larger than that of Final Fantasy XV (100 GB), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (125 GB), and even Red Dead Redemption 2 (150 GB).

Compared to its predecessor, Jedi: Fallen Order, which requires a relatively modest 55 GB, Jedi: Survivor's massive file size is likely due to the expanded game world and the abundance of optional areas to explore. Respawn Entertainment has clearly gone the extra mile to create larger environments and more detailed graphics, making this sequel feel grander and even more immersive.

For PC gamers, the minimum system requirements include:

  • RAM = 8 GB
  • CPU = AMD Ryzen 5 1400 / Intel Core i7-7700
  • GPU = AMD Radeon RX 580 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
  • OS = Windows 10 64-bit

The recommended specs call for:

  • RAM = 16 GB
  • CPU = AMD Ryzen 5 5600X / Intel Core i5-11600K
  • GPU = AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT / Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070
  • OS = Windows 10 64-bit

These requirements are quite reasonable, and if you were able to run Jedi: Fallen Order on your PC, chances are you'll be able to run Jedi: Survivor without any issues.

As for PS5 players, while the exact install size is yet to be confirmed, it's safe to assume that it will be similar to the PC version, given the game's impressive graphics and expanded game world. The next-gen release promises to offer a larger player space than Fallen Order, and the game director Stig Asmussen has hinted at fast travel options to help players navigate the expansive world.

In conclusion, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the franchise, with its captivating storyline, intriguing character dynamics, and stunning visuals. However, players should be prepared for the hefty install size and ensure they have enough storage space to fully enjoy this epic adventure in a galaxy far, far away.
