Panel Pixel Policy

In accordance with ISO 9241-307 pixel performance standards, minor pixel variations such as micro-dots ≤ ½ pixel, IPS glow, or light backlight bleed are considered normal. Pixio does not provide a “zero dead pixel” guarantee unless noted for specific models. Panel contaminants, including dust, debris, or insects trapped within the panel, are also not covered under warranty.

A monitor panel is composed of millions of sub-pixels (red, green, and blue). A defect may occur when one or more of these sub-pixels malfunction. The following definitions and limits outline acceptable pixel performance standards:

  • Bright Dot

    • A sub-pixel that remains constantly on and appears as a white, red, green, or blue spot on a dark background.

  • Dark Dot

    • A sub-pixel that remains constantly off and appears as a black or dark spot on a light background.

  • Micro Dot

    • A sub-pixel smaller than half a standard pixel (≤ 50 μm) is considered normal and excluded from coverage.
