Creator Spotlight- Tek Syndicate

In this edition of Creator Spotlight, we’re excited to feature Logan. As a well-known figure in tech circles, Logan built a substantial following through his YouTube channels, Tek Syndicate and Easy Mode, where he shared tech insights, gaming content, and more. Now, he’s preparing for a transition from tech content to focus on game development, music, and creative game videos. Let’s explore his journey, gaming passions, and what’s next on his creative path.

Meet Logan

Logan’s story begins with an unexpected journey into tech content. Originally aspiring to create games, music, and movies, he got his start in tech through a hosting role on a YouTube channel for Tiger Direct— a position that aligned with his interests in building PCs and entertaining audiences. However, when things became too corporate, he chose to build his own community through his unique blend of tech and entertainment content.

While tech became a stable career, Logan emphasizes that it has always been a means to support his true passions: gaming, music, and creative endeavors. He resonates with the quote from Joe MacMillan in Halt and Catch Fire: “Computers aren’t the thing, they’re the thing that gets you to the thing.” For Logan, tech is the tool that enables his creative pursuits.

Gaming Setup and Preferences

Logan’s gaming habits reflect a love for both retro and modern titles. His most-played games include Baldur’s Gate 3, Pillars of Eternity, Street Fighter 6, Cities: Skylines 2, Wrath Aeon of Ruin, and Dragon’s Dogma 2. He also enjoys indie games, retro shooters, and classic RPGs, often played on his two CRT monitors.

Although Logan no longer uses his Pixio PXC327 after downsizing his streaming setup, he has fond memories of it. He used the 32-inch 1440p monitor for streaming fast-paced retro FPS games, appreciating its fast VA panel for darker blacks and the smooth 165Hz refresh rate.

The Path to Content Creation

Logan’s content creation journey is rooted in his desire to entertain and share knowledge. With a background in acting and a passion for gaming, his transition to tech content was initially accidental but evolved into a successful career. Despite this, his main interest has always been in how hardware enables creative pursuits. This perspective has shaped his content and continues to guide his plans for the future.

Looking Ahead

Logan is preparing for a major shift, leaving tech content behind to focus on game development, music, and more creative pursuits. He plans to release a click adventure game—a dark tale set during the satanic panic of the early 90s. Beyond game development, he’s also considering a move to Asia and looks forward to diving deeper into music creation and storytelling through his Easy Mode channel.

Feedback for Pixio

Logan has long been a supporter of Pixio, emphasizing the focus on essential specs and features without the unnecessary bloat. He’d love to see a 3840x1600 monitor added to the lineup, noting that it’s become his favorite ultrawide resolution. And, in true nostalgic fashion, he suggested bringing back CRTs!
